If you are a GCSE student completing the AQA English Language GCSE then this video is for you. It will go over the most important things that you need to know about paper 1 question 1 and in only 60 seconds.

I know you may be thinking that 60 seconds isn't enough, but - trust me - it is.

This question is super straightforward, BUT I don't want you to think 'oh, then why do I even need to revise it?'

You need to revise it because losing marks on this question would be such a silly - and unnecessary - mistake.

It is not about 'revision' so much as making sure you understand what this question asks of you. If you don't understand that, then you risk spending too much time on this question and showing a skill that is more than necessary - or making an error that leads you to lose marks.

For this question, you're going to be asked to list four things about something going on in the text. When deciding what to pick for those four things, make sure you choose things that are really obvious because you don't get any extra marks for being insightful or perceptive. So, just choose explicit, obvious answers and make sure you only do four. Don't do any more cuz you won't get any mark for any more, but also don't do less cuz then you'll be losing marks cuz you don't have four. You need to also make sure that you should be sticking within the line range that they give you in the question. Don't go outside of that cuz you won't get marks for things outside of that line range. You can copy the text

word-for-word. You don't have to summarize, but don't copy the entire line line range cuz then you just get zero out of four. And finally, you should aim to spend a maximum of four minutes on this question, but in ideal world, you'll spend more like two.
