AQA English Language GCSE Paper 1 Question 2 in 60 SECONDS

AQA English Language GCSE Paper 1 Question 2 in 60 SECONDS!!

Mrs Wear gives a quick-fire overview of how to tackle Question 2 in Paper 1, Section A. The question is always worth 8 marks and should take about 10–15 minutes. It is always phrased along the lines of “How does the writer use language to describe X?” — so the skill being tested is language analysis only (structural analysis doesn’t earn marks here).

Students are given a specific line range, already copied into the paper, so they don’t need to find it themselves. To score well, she recommends writing two TEA paragraphs (two different ideas), each supported by 1–2 well-chosen quotations. The key is to analyse those quotes in detail to prove your interpretation.

She ends by reminding students that if they need more than this “60-second crash course,” they should check her longer videos for deeper guidance.
